The orphanage in Garo Hills is a home to 13 children. Each child is a precious jewel – unique and different in so many ways. The first GWP missionaries came to India in the year 2006. By 2011, the orphanage building was constructed and children were taken in. The orphanage was blessed with local staff, who today are taking care of the children along with several missionaries/volunteers from America.

Every child follows the rules and schedule of the orphanage. This is designed to help them grow up into responsible and educated individuals who love God and love people. Every child gets the opportunity to receive an education, personally meet Jesus Christ, and learn to live a fulfilled life according to God’s design. The children play and have fun during their free time giving them the enjoyable environment all children deserve to grow up in.

We value the opportunity to raise these children and fill their young hearts with the truth of the Gospel. As they are nurtured by the Word of God, we notice changes in the children’s thinking, behavior and lives. Our God is truly great, creating such wonders in the hearts of these children!

Our staff consists of missionaries/ volunteers who come to India from all around the world devoting several months, sometimes several years to serve in whatever way possible. Each person is given a ministry, responsibility and different jobs around the children’s home to help accomplish everyday tasks. The main goal of every missionary at the orphanage is to provide hope and love for the children, be a counselor and supporter, help with physical needs, direct each child to the Lord, and help with education.

We thank the Lord for every person that has been sent to serve at the orphanage as a missionary. Each volunteer who steps through the doors of the orphanage brings hope and has a big impact on the hearts of every child. Although many times the help might go unseen, many times the effort undervalued,  we believe that the ultimate reward will be given to each one once they stand before Christ.
